Anderson Young Ballet Theatre

Anderson Young Ballet Theatre is semi-professional dance company under the direction of LouAnn Young.  In it's 37th season, AYBT has utilized Anderson's dancing youth to produce such full length ballets as The Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, Coppelia, Romeo & Juliet, Cinderella, Giselle, Red Shoes, Swan Lake, and several ballet excerpts.  AYBT is also one of the forerunners in dance for modern and musical theater. Each season AYBT performs their annual Autumn Gala, a full length Christmas ballet, and our spring recital: The Big Four Arts Review.

Our dancers are trained first in the Cecchetti Syllabus and then Vaganova forms of ballet.  Our Jazz technique is based in Luigi.  AYBT dancers have won such awards as Butler University's Margaret Sear Rosenblith Award, Arts & Letters & the Carey Rose Winski Memorial Scholarship.  They have been accepted to the National Ballet School, School of American Ballet, Interlochen Arts Academy, and The Joffrey Ballet School.  Professionally, our dancers have danced with Indianapolis Ballet Theater, Joffrey Ballet, Lexington Ballet, Colorado Ballet, Walt Disney Productions, Dance Kaleidoscope, Kings Productions and Beef & Boards.

A member of Mid-States Regional Dance Festival, AYBT holds status as one of the organization's Honor Companies.  AYBT employs several choreographers who have won the Mid-State Regional Dance Festival's Monticello Award, their highest choreographer's award.

AYBT is a not-for-profit organization who's board of directors are dedicated to bringing the arts and education to the youth and population of Indiana.

SCRIP Orders

Introducing AYBT "Scrip." We are pleased to share some exciting news about a new fundraising program for AYBT. It's called "scrip", and it's the fundraising program that works while you shop. Scrip is a term that means "substitute money". In other words, scrip is gift certificates from national and local retailers. They're the same gift certificates that you buy at the store. You can use scrip to purchase everyday expenses like food, clothing, and other essentials, and with every purchase, you earn revenue for AYBT and your scholarship fund. Half of the revenue will go to AYBT and half to your scholarship fund. You're probably asking yourself how these stores help us raise money. It's simple, scrip participating retailers agree to sell gift certificates to our organization at a discount. Member families like yours buy the certificates for full face value, they redeem them for full face value, and we keep the difference as revenue. The beauty of scrip is that you put your regular household shopping dollars to work.  You earn money for AYBT and your scholarship fund without spending a single additional penny.  Contact the Academy office for the order form. Please fill in the form; attach your check for the total to AYBT; and turn the form and check in to Martha at the AYBTA office. We will return the gift cards the next week.

SCRIP orders will be placed on the following dates:

2/15, 3/14, 4/18
